Death March

Here's a piece I finished a couple of weeks back for a coffee house show called "Bug's Eye View." I drew and inked it on watercolor paper which has a bit more tooth, and I'm still trying to decide if I like that or not.

I had drawer's block when I began working on this, so I sat down with one of my children and started drawing with crayons and "boo-yaa" out came the initial sketch. Here's the preliminary sketch...in crayola.

This has been a good art week. I've been working feverishly on my submission for Parable 2 which is due end of December. I'm planning a 10 pager that I'm quite excited about. I'm through the thumbnail/plot stage and right now I'm working on detailed preliminary pencilled drawings of each page. Working out all the kinks, ya know? This is by far the most time consuming part of the process, but by far the most important and foundational.

Also trying to finish up a small Christmas children's book that I'm doing with my pal David. Drawings for that are all inked and scanned, now I just have to find the time to color them. Probably print ths on Lulu in the next couple of months once completed.

I also think I'm coming down with a sinus infection.
