The Spell Has Been Broken

My drawing spell was broken last night. What better way to break an evil spell than with 80s metal?

I mentioned in my last post about the Stryper contest. Though i had mentally given up, I was struck with inspiration at 10:19 PM Tuesday night and stayed up til 1:00 AM working on it. Couple hours yesterday, couple today, and voila...my submission for Stryper's next album; "Murder by Pride."

Had alot of fun painting this in photoshop.

Here's the two finals:

Here's my initial drawing and some background elements:

I like the one that is zoomed out a little more. It lets us focus on the guy a little more and gives us a good view of the texture in the background. Cool stuff. How'd the Parable storyline work out?

Thanks for the encouraging words everybody: )

Jeremy, I gave that story a break. Lost steam due to the delay of Parable 1. It was going pretty well though, inked 7 pages

The cd title font is perfect.

I'm left to wonder if the character image is too strong or supernatural for Stryper, and yes I do remember the original cover for to Hell With the Devil.

The character bears a strong resemblance to Until the Twilight.

It is a departure from what Stryper usually do, which may be the point. Either way, you are a great artist that has created a piece that demands to be considered for the cover! I hope your work is chosen!
