Cast-a-way Zombie

Here's a good shot of the Zombie illustration I did for Cast-a-Way Toys last month. In working on these images, I referred to the great Basil Gogos. His paintings were amazing, never could something so hideous be painted so beautifully.

Charlie Valor issue 2
Charlie Valor issue 2 is in the works. I finished all the pencils today. Gotta get the green light on everything before I begin inking. Drawing this really stressed me out at the beginning. I scrapped quite a few pages, and usually I find that when I'm doing that, I haven't thought out my thumb nails well enough. Once I got in to the groove again I was ok, but God bless my wife for putting up with me in the meanwhile.
Anyhoo, I apologize for the poor quality photo, but here's a snippet.

Buy PARABLE!!!!

Got to work this morning only to find my friend had laid a copy of The Parable Anthology on my desk to sign. I had not seen the final product yet. I am a stickler for quality and let me tell you, this is freakin' awesome. Printed beautiful, vibrant colors, crisp line work, awesome art. You need to buy a copy.
I posted a snap shot of the first 2 pages of Ben Avery and I's story, "The Little Debtor". The book is still $10 off til the end of January, so buy yourself and all your friends, coworkers, veterinarians, dentists, teachers, pastors, zoo-keepers, rocket scientists, loved ones, and comic geeks copies.
ORDER HERE.

Charlie Valor issue 2

Crappy photo I know, but I was in Target with my daughters tonight, and in preparation of beginning pencils on the second issue of Charlie Valor on Thursday I did the Etch-a-sketch drawing replete with the "charlievalor.com".
Last week I started pencils only to hit a brick wall and realize I hadn't plotted out all my thumbnails well enough yet. So I went back to the drawing board and replotted out all my pages, making sure I knew the story.
This week I've been trying to get to it but having a bit of an art inferiority complex. Horrible feeling. No choice now though, I'm supposed to have everything done by next Friday. Godspeed.

Black Rose Sketch book

If you haven't, check out Aaron Minier's Black Rose comic. Aaron's work blows my mind. Really gnarly stuff. Anyhoo, he and the Black Rose team just released a 70 + page sketch book you really need to check out. Stunning work. Get a copy...and an art inferiority complex here!
Check out my Pal Eric's Work...

If you haven't, you need to check out my pal Eric Merced's blog. I've been watching his stuff for the last couple of years, and he's seriously tearing it up in Manga Studio. Check his work out here.
